A saddle-shaped rock

゚Shodo-shima,Kagawa゚

This mysterious story comes from Mr.Ohota Yutaka (78 years old) who used to be a school master in Shodoshima island which situates in the Inland sea.
He enjoys his old days as a good player of Go at his village.

The young man walked in tottering along the pich-dark village lane among farm fields.
He was happy after drinking a lot of spirits at a country-small tavern. It was so dark that his humming alone got through the darkness.

Lo!

When he came near to a rock, which was called a saddle-shaped rock, it shoned itself as if a someone kept casting spotlights.
Feeling something mysterious, he climbed up to the surface of the rock slowly.

He found that an unknown, matchlessly beutiful girl sat down on the rock all alone.
Her beauty was enough to hit his hear, perhaps more than that!
Woman smiled to him so nicely that he forgot all about why a young woman had been sat here such late at night.

He was enchanted by her mysteriously aimiable smile, calling to her
"Hey, young girl!" then tried touching her on the shoulder.
Instantly, she disappeared.

He found himself in a pich-dark place.
What a beautiful girl she was and what happened to her?
He spoke himself but in vain.
He felt bound hand and foot when the image of her came up with him...her rose cheeks and her bright eyes, especially there was something very seducing about her ... .

Behold!

The rock shone again as if in a broad daylight.
Everywhere started glittering around him.
The brightness was more than he had ever experianced.

The light did not seem to be natural, such as from the sun nor moon, it might come from another world.
Oh, that brightness!

In opening his eyes, he found himself sit down in a room filled with a light.
All over the room, pillars and walls, was decorated with pearls.
The refrection incessantlly made numerous circles.
This room shonen beyond his understanding.

Well, the room was made of luminous body, it radiated itself in a word, said the old man.

He dropped down in the room like a boneless man.
He found out the previous beautiful girl sat down at the center of the room., smiling all over her face in a seductive way.
She beckoned him to come to her.

He instantly made a determination to seduce her by taking chance.
A group of waiting maids in a Japanese compusure appeared to attend upon him, each one lifting up a tray on which there were all sorts of dainties.

The woman came down to him helping him to Japanese sake.
Lovely maids neatly dressed in Kimono danced a Japanese traditional dance.
He became in a mood of feudal Japanese lord.
He was very happy, even more than that!

However, the mysterious part of everthing was that no body uttered even a single word.
The young man never thought about it in jolly spirits, he was quite fascinated by the beautiful woman.

When he looked into the face of a woman sitting next to him, he was so surprised.
The woman, a machless beauty had turned into a one-eyed goblin whose face was half-collapsed.
Screaming in astonishment, he became out of sense.

Early in the next morning, a villager who passed by this rock heard somebody growling upper on the rock.
...A young man sitting on the rock kept saying, "The goblin, a one-eyed goblin!"

Soon all the villagers got to know about the beautiful woman the youngman had met.
Since then, nobody passed by the spot after dark.
This rock was broken around the year of 1888.
There became a rice field.
There has been a statue of Jizo since then.

According to old Mr. Ohota, informant, his grandfather told this story in 1931 when he was at the 6th grade in the elementary school.
The oldman was a village master, and passed away in 1936.

However, Mr. Ohota gave me a special comment as follows.
After World War 2, when he came back to the village in 1947, the village older people told him another story about this KURAISHI rock.
He still wonders why the context of the story differs from.
Suzi does not know about another story.

I really hope to meet a type of the most beautiful woman in the world although I ever met some top ranking actresses in Japan so far such as Shima Iwashita, Hideko Takamine, Kaori Momoi, Kazuko Yoshiyuki.

Another question is why no one in this story uttered even a single word.
I wonder what kind of voice they had.
A voice as well could be beautiful or not??

The cameraman this time is Mr. Akio Ohota(47).
Let me introduce him.
